Schools and Youths

Climbing is a great way of exercising both body and mind. Dealing with new and unfamiliar situations can create a huge sense of achievement. The outdoor environment can be used as a powerful tool in education.

Climbing is a great way to boost self confidence, giving kids the chance to try out a new and unusual activity. With the added safety issues, every child will take on a role of responsibility, making them feel like an important part of the team. It is great for developing team work skills, often bringing quiet children out of their shells.

Outdoor education is effective with disaffected youth, disabled groups and adventurous young people alike. We can tailor sessions for your group, whatever the size, providing fun sessions inside the centre, or full days outside on a crag. If your school is involved in Physical Education GSCE or A Level, our instructors can work in conjunction with your teachers to cover the syllabus required.

The Manchester Climbing Centre is fully equipped with wheelchair access and facilities. We have members of staff who are experienced with dealing with groups with disabilities, both physical and psychological. Already we have regular users of the wall from a wide range of different organisations.

Please note: we are not insured for anyone under the age of 5 to be in the climbing hall
